Caspar Stracke and Eike Berg met before studying art in Braunschweig in the mid-1980s. With friends, they founded the FISCH art centre (now Allgemeiner Konsumverein) in Braunschweig, and also collaborated as artists. During Stracke's many years in New York and Berg's many years in Budapest, they maintained a live-ly exchange and organised joint exhibitions, among other things.

Peter Zorn studied film at the HBK Braunschweig, and founded the Werkleitz Gesellschaft in 1993. He developed the European Media Artists in Residence Exchange Programme (EMARE) in 1995 and has been manager of the EU-funded European Media Art Platform, which he initiated in 2017. Zorn has kept contact with Stracke and Berg over the years, and collaborated internationally with various partner organisations.

At the core of Eike Berg’s works is the question of the organization and nature of human knowledge and perception. His works navigate around these semantic centers with varying conceptual approaches and different genres, including video, installation, photography, computer art, and light art. His works share a focus on the element of change, usually examining on notions of the borderline or transgressions of borders: space and time, reality and abstraction.
